ABOUT ME AND MY PROJECT
My name is Kamila and I'm in the project With a book around the world I have combined things that I love.
I like to read and write. I like to travel and get to know new cultures, places and people. I like to eat good food and watch great series or quality movies. And most importantly - I love challenges. Such challenges, where I can make lists, plan when I will complete each item and cross off those completed.
I write on this site mainly for myself and for the joy of how my challenge is going. You can read about it, support me, cheer me on, but most importantly - you can join me! Come with me and challenge yourself too.
How the challenge started and what you can expect in it
I was inspired by an English writer who, with the intention of stepping out of her comfort zone (especially on the topic of reading books), decided to read a book from each of the 195 countries in the world in one year.
I adapted the idea and gave myself 1 whole month for each country. During each month, I am going to read a book from that country, watch a movie or series, cook their typical food and meet or talk to a person from that country and convey this conversation to you.
How long will the challenge last
With the rate of one country - one month, 195 countries are going to last around 16 years, but why limit myself. Who knows how many there will be. States arise and disappear over time, and the list can realistically change as you complete this challenge. At the same time, I would also like to give space to special regions that are not considered independent states, or regions and minorities whose culture is unique and it would be a shame to overlook them, just because they don't have their own state.
And besides, if I still enjoy it in 16 years, it would be a shame not to have something to continue. So I declare that this project does not have a given end, or a decided number of countries that we will visit together. In short, we will explore the world together from the comfort of home (and maybe even more than that) as long as we enjoy it :)
